Obituary of Lois Ann Troup
Lois Ann Troup, 69, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 1, 2024, at her home.
Born on July 12, 1955, in Abbington, PA, she was a daughter of the late John Alexander Troup, II, and the late Lois Elizabeth Hawley Troup.
Lois Ann was valued and cherished wherever she went. Her loyalty and love kept her ever-connected with her vast community of family and friends.
After graduating from Wyoming Seminary Preparatory School in Pennsylvania, she attended Syracuse University for Art History, then University of New Haven for Hotel, Restaurant and Tourism where she graduated cum laude. Her studies and passions included art, art history, travel, literature, and cuisine.
Her first job in the Georgetown, SC area was as the Golf and Entertainment Director of the Myrtle Beach Resort. She obtained her realtors license to work alongside family at Wedgefield Plantation, where she also became the Food and Beverage Manager and led functions at Wedgefield Manor House. Most recently, she worked for over 20 years as a real estate paralegal for Bryan & Haar law firm in Surf Side.
In her private life Lois Ann was active in the Wedgefield Homeowners Association where she was the treasurer for several years. She was a fixture in her church, Georgetown Presbyterian, leaving a lasting impression on many of her fellow congregants.
Lois Ann was a loving and devoted daughter, sister, aunt and friend who will be remembered for her generous and kind spirit.
Survivors include a sister, Arlene Dinges (Richard) of CA; a nephew, Richard Dinges (Cecelia) of Germany; two nieces, Brianna Dinges (Salvatore Rizzo) of CO and Jennifer Dinges of CA; two great nieces, Makayla Dinges and Adilyn Dinges; and several close Troup and Hawley cousins.
She was preceded in death by a brother John A. Troup, Jr.
A memorial service will be held at 1 PM, Saturday, October 12, 2024 at Georgetown Presbyterian Church. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
