My sincere condolences to Mrs. Laura Kirkland and Tres in the loss of Mr. Claude. He and I worked at Beck Middle School in the same team for years. He was my friend. May God forever bless you, and may time help you to realize that earth has no sorrow that heaven can not heal. Life helps us to accept the things that we can't change as we keep holding on to God's unchanging hands.

Laura, I found out today that Claude had pasted my thoughts and prayers are with you and the family. Claude was Larry's very best friend and my childhood hero, stay strong for yourself and the kids.

Mr Kirkland was on the faculty of Winyah Jr. High School during the 1960s when my family lived in Georgetown. My Dad was principal of Winyah Jr. High while we were there and often spoke of his appreciation for Mr. Kirkland's contributions. Dad certainly enjoyed having Mr. Kirkland as a colleague, and all of us admired his golfing abilities. My prayers go out on behalf of the Kirkland family. I know that all of you will find comfort in remembering the great life he led.

Laura and family, Edward and I are deeply sorry for your loss. There are no words right now that will make it better for you except knowing that he is finished with the pain that he has been through these many months. You are in our thoughts and prayers. Laura, I wanted to let you know that I will not be able to attend Wednesday's service. However, I will be thinking and praying for you. Claude was a very special guy. I loved working with him and always enjoyed his visits to my office. We would sit and talk about all sorts of things. I guess we were making the world better. LOL!
