Obituary of Ronnie Gene Dew

Ronald “Ronnie” Gene Dew, 67, husband of Audrey Rogers Dew, passed away Friday, March 29, 2024 at the Ralph H. Johnson VA Medical Center. Born on November 2, 1956, in Loris, he was a son of the late John Foster Dew and the late Annie Pearl Simmons Dew. Ronnie served in the United States Navy and was a member of Ringel Heights Baptist Church. He was the owner of two businesses, Dew’s Low Country Construction and Ronnie Dew Inc. He was a hard-working man and enjoyed every minute of it. Working was not a job, but a hobby. In his spare time, he loved riding bucking horses; going to horse shows and going on trail rides. His greatest pleasure was spending time at the barn with his family, and watching his girls ride their horses. Survivors include his wife; two children, Anna Dew Collins (Rob) and Andrew C. Blake (Amber Mahan); a mother-in-law, Carol Rogers; two grandchildren, McKinlee Grace Blake and Annalynn Rose Blake all of Georgetown; a sister, Phyllis Dew Brockington (Johnnie) of Nesmith; a brother-in-law, Grant Lane (Sue) of Mill Spring, NC; a sister-in-law, Anne Rogers Coker of Georgetown; and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Steve Coker. Funeral services will be held at 2 PM Thursday, April, 4, 2024, at Ringel Heights Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Pennyroyal Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hugs for Horses Therapeutic Riding Program, 215 Equestrian Drive, Georgetown, SC 29440 or Ringel Heights Baptist Church Operation Christmas Child, 78 Rubin Avenue, Georgetown, SC 29440.
