Mama Jo always had a smile on her face and a twinkle of mischief in her eyes. My brother and I hung out at her house during our high school years along with a few other friends. She was so accepting and caring to a ragtag bunch of teenagers. There was always fun, laughter, singing and guitar playing going on around her house. It was a real treat to be there on days that she and her husband had their bible study friends over for singalongs. And all the laughs we had listening to her kids poke fun at one another while wrapping seedlings for the feed store. She had such a special family and it was so kind of her to let us be a part of it. I’m sure my brother and I speak for a lot of folks when we say we appreciate her love, wisdom, coffee and letting us hang out. Every neighborhood could use a Mama Jo. Peace and prayers to her family and friends.
