Obituary of Thad Hayes, Jr.

Thadeus Earl “Thad” Hayes, Jr., 62, husband of Jo Ann Barnes Hayes, passed away Sunday, February 25, 2024, at his home. Born on October 3, 1961, in Camden, he was a son of Ethelyn Caulder Hayes and the late Thadeus Earl Hayes, Sr. Thad was employed with 3V Chemical for more than 35 years and enjoyed riding motorcycles, playing golf, fishing and most of all spending time with his family. Survivors include his wife and mother both of Georgetown; five children, April Hayes (Jamie Glisson) of Georgetown, Josh Hayes (Kyndel) of Georgetown, Jared Hayes (Mary Beth) of Andrews, Cody Merideth (Alexis Brandon) of Georgetown and Krista Hayes of Georgetown; and 14 grandchildren, Tucker Lunsford, Isabella Newton, Alexus Hayes, Kylah Jordan, Lyric Hayes, Jaxon Hayes, Max Hayes, Kam Moore, Harper Hayes, Dutton Hayes, Cole Merideth, Carson Merideth, Sophia Merideth and Lyla Blow. He was preceded in death by a son, Corey Hayes; and a brother, Gregory Hayes. A memorial service will be held at 6 PM Thursday, February 29, 2024, at Calvary Free Will Baptist Church.
