Obituary of Kris Zurcher
William Kristopher “Kris” Zurcher, 42, husband of Heather Mobley-Zurcher, passed away Tuesday, January 23, 2024, after a brief illness.
Born on November 12, 1981, in Georgetown, he was a son of Marie Zurcher and the late Hubert Zurcher. Kris was a former law enforcement officer, having worked with the Kingstree Police Department, Clarendon County Sheriff's Office and proudly served as the former police chief for the Town of Andrews. Along with a career in law enforcement, Kris worked as an X-ray technician for many years.
In his spare time, Kris enjoyed martial arts and was inducted into the Martial Arts Hall of Fame twice and served as an instructor for Karate for Christ and Coastal Karate. Kris also enjoyed fast cars, working on cars, guns and spending time with his family. He was the life of the party and never met a stranger.
Survivors include his wife of Andrews; two children, Kayleigh Zurcher of Andrews and Kaden Zurcher both of Andrews; two sisters-in-law, April Mobley of Andrews and Brandy Tisdale (JR) of Andrews; siblings, Angie Zurcher Birdwell, Patrick Zurcher, Pam Bradshaw and Kenny Bradshaw (Faye); mother-in-law, Sharon Furtner of Andrews; a special fur baby, Salem “Monkey”; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Hubert Zurcher; father-in-law, Charles Randy Mobley; and a brother, Kevin Bradshaw.
A memorial service will be held at 3 PM Sunday, January 28, 2024, at Saints Delight Pentecostal Holiness Church. The family will receive friends following the service.
