Obituary of Tommy Watson

Tommy Richard Watson, 79, husband of Alice Wheeler Watson, passed away Saturday, January 6, 2024, at his home. Mr. Watson was born on October 17, 1944, in Horry County, a son of the late Leonard B. Watson and the late Bertha Holmes Watson. He was a member of Herbert Memorial United Methodist Church and was retired from Santee Cooper. Mr. Watson enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Survivors include his wife of Georgetown; three children, Tommy R. “Richie” Watson, Jr. of Houston, TX, Amy W. Lee (JB) of Georgetown and Beckie McAlister (Robert) of Georgetown; six grandchildren, Reid Lee, Evan Lee, Carson Watson, Erin Blake, Justin McAlister and Brandi McAlister; five great grandchildren; a nephew, Roger Todd (Debbie) of Greenville; and two nieces, Wendy Watson and Robin Watson both of Asheboro, NC. He was preceded in death by a sister, Betty Watson; and two brothers, Jerry Watson and Paul Watson. A memorial service will be held at 3 PM Wednesday, January 10, 2024, at Herbert Memorial United Methodist Church. Burial will be private.
