Obituary of Michael David Hoyt

Michael David Hoyt, 54, passed away Friday, November 3, 2023, at Tidelands Waccamaw Community Hospital. Born on March 8, 1969, in Albemarle, NC, he was the son of the late Mary Katherine Lambert and the late Robert Giles Hoyt. Michael had a great love for sports and was a dedicated fan of the North Carolina Tar Heels, Dallas Cowboys, and Celtics. In addition to his enthusiasm and love for sports, Michael enjoyed doing carpentry work and spending time in the kitchen cooking for his friends and family. Survivors include his companion, Lisa Walters Wiggins of Murrells Inlet; one son, Andrew Hoyt of South Carolina; two that he thought of as his own; Tiffany Wiggins Lowell (Ryan) of Georgetown and Brittany Wiggins Pritcher (Robert) of Mt. Pleasant and their children, Stella Kate Lowell, Gavin Everett Lowell and Reid Megan Pritcher; two sisters, Christine Culp (Doug) of Albemarle, NC and Penny Smith (Terry) of New London, NC; three nieces; two nephews; and numerous cousins. He was preceded in death by a brother, Douglas Hoyt. Services will be private.
