Obituary of Albert Dean Church, III

Albert Dean Church, III, husband of Alice Marie Ard Church, passed away Sunday, August 13, 2023, at the Veteran Village. Born on October 4, 1943, in Peoria, IL, he was a son of the late Albert Dean Church, II and the late Betty Jane Wickline Church. Mr. Church was a US Navy veteran and a member of the Knights of Columbus. He had an unwavering passion for sports and was a dedicated Chicago Bears fan. Along with his love for football, Mr. Church spent countless hours bowling and playing golf. Apart from his avid sporting pursuits, Mr. Church’s greatest joy was time spent with family. He prioritized building meaningful connections, and cherishing each moment shared together. Survivors include his wife of Georgetown; five children, Albert Dean Church, IV (Ann) of Effingham, IL, Richard Andrew Church (Renee) of Georgetown, Steven Church (Alicia) of Georgetown, Chester Allen Church (Lisa) of Surfside Beach and Carol Ann Swails (Billy) of Andrews; 12 grandchildren, Albert D. Church, V of Georgetown, Margaret Ann Church of Chicago, IL, Tyler Church of Charlotte, NC, Sarah Ann Church of Georgetown, Elizabeth High of Charleston, Alex High of Georgetown, Thomas Church of Georgetown, Magen Cormier (Josh) of Georgetown, Ty Swails of Fayetteville, AL, Tripp Swails (Courtney) of Andrews, Mary Alice Swails of Andrews and Melody Jane Swails of Andrews; six great-grandchildren; one sister, Jane Kay Lippert (Doug) of Florida; two brothers, Gary Church (Melody) of Washington, IL and William Church (Jayne) of Michigan. He was preceded in death by a sister, Carol Peters. A memorial service will be held at 11 AM Friday, August 18, 2023, at Screven Baptist Church. The family will receive friends following the service.
