The Georgetown community has lost another important person who was part of the area's Baby Boomer generation. David and I (being one year older) grew up together n the Wayne and Loril Street vicinity of Maryville during the 1950's and 1950's. We often layed sandlot baseball in a field across from Wayne Methodist Church. We also played against and with one another in Dixie Youth and Palmetto Boys baseball. He was always a dependable and devoted friend and teammate. Although he shied away from the recognition of it it, David was a very compassionate and caring person. Early on, he was the strong arm that his mother (Miss Betty) leaned on after the untimely death of her husband and his father and the unfortunate accident suffered by his brother Buddy. Rest in peace, my friend. I won't ever forget you!
