Obituary of Linda Tompkins

Linda Gayle Jones Tompkins, 66, widow of Wayne Tompkins, passed away Thursday, June 8, 2023, at her daughter’s home. Born on January 2, 1957, in Wilmington, NC, she was a daughter of the late L. C. Jones, Sr. and Pearl Skipper Jones. She was a member of Fellowship with Jesus Church. Ms. Tompkins enjoyed planting and tending to her roses, shopping and spending time with her dogs. Survivors include her mother of Georgetown; two children, Jennifer Easler (Carl) of Andrews and David Tompkins (Ariel Cook) of Georgetown; one grandchild, Aiden Easler of Andrews; one sister Judy Cribb (Tom) of Georgetown; one brother, L.C. Jones, Jr., of Georgetown; numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, L.C. Jones, Sr.; her husband, Wayne Tompkins; the father of her daughter John Bennett; three brothers, Bud Jones, Billy Joe Jones and Donnie Jones; and a sister, Barbara Hanna. A Memorial Service will be held at 3 PM, Thursday, June 15, 2023, at The Christian Fortress. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
