Obituary of Bertha Ward Wilson

Bertha Ward Wilson, 87, widow of Arthur Dubose “A.D.” Wilson, passed away Wednesday, April 19, 2023, at Georgetown Memorial Hospital. Born on June 18, 1935, in Williamsburg County, she was the daughter of the late William “Charlie” Ward and the late Maddie Jane Lambert Ward. Mrs. Wilson was a member of Saints Delight Pentecostal Holiness Church. She loved her church family, her community, and her friends, but most of all, she loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them. She was a wonderful mother, mammy, aunt, and friend to so many. She had the best sense of humor and was always up for any adventure her children and grandchildren would take her on. She will be greatly missed. Survivors include her children, Bruce Cusack (Dianne) of Georgetown, Randy “Oscar” Wilson (Elaine) of Andrews, Rita Wilson of Georgetown, and Penny Cox (Randy) of Andrews; nine grandchildren, Tracey Wilder (Michael) of Andrews, Melissa Moore (Jay) of Andrews, Greg Wilson of Rock Hill, Lindsey Poston (Bubba) of Hemingway, Sabrina Lambert (Marshall) of Georgetown, Tabby Lambert (Marty) of Georgetown, Phil Wilson (Melissa) of Georgetown, Ryan Cox (Lindsey) of Andrews and Laci Lambert (Chad) of Georgetown; 22 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by an infant daughter; a son-in-law, Phillip Wilson; two grandsons, Will Cusack and Michael Tisdale; a great-granddaughter, Heather Lambert; six brothers, John Ward, Nelson Ward, Roland Ward, Ben Ward, Allen “Tippy” Ward, and Clemons Ward; and a sister, Margaret Jones. Funeral services will be held at 3 PM Friday, April 21, 2023, at Saints Delight Pentecostal Holiness Church. Burial will follow in the Lambert Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:30 PM - 2:30 PM before the service.
