Obituary of Joseph Thomas Burroughs, Jr.

Joseph Thomas Burroughs, Jr., 42, husband of Haley Thomas Burroughs, passed away Monday, April 3, 2023, at his home. Born on January 14, 1981, in Georgetown, he was a son of Faith June Howard Long and Joseph Thomas Burroughs. Mr. Burroughs was a member of St. Delight Pentecostal Holiness Church and enjoyed working on his boat, fishing, and spending time with his family. Survivors include his wife of Georgetown; mother and step-father, Kenneth Long of Andrews; father of Kingstree; two sons, Emory Burroughs and Ethan Burroughs both of Georgetown; one sister, Sheena Williamson of Kingstree; one brother, Joshua Burroughs of Lake City; mother-in-law, Deborah Thomas of Georgetown; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, James Leroy Howard and Margaret Juanita Howard; paternal grandparents, John Burroughs and Patricia Burroughs; and his father-in-law, Dwight Thomas. Funeral services will be held at 4 PM Wednesday, April 5, 2023, at St. Delight Pentecostal Holiness Church. Burial will follow in the Lambert Cemetery.
