Obituary of Laurie Taylor Odum

Laurie Taylor Odum, 65, widow of Ervin Odum joined the love of her life in their eternal home on Friday, March 3, 2023. Born on October 16, 1957, in Georgetown, she was a daughter of the late Bill and Flonnie Taylor. Mrs. Odum was a member of Maryville Pentecostal Holiness Church and was an employee of First Baptist Church of Georgetown for more than 15 years. Laurie’s greatest blessings in life were her children and grandchildren. She lived life for them and could always be found sitting behind home plate cheering the loudest or on the front row of an auditorium beaming with pride. “Miss Laurie” was a mother to many and later became everyone’s “Nana” Survivors include her children, Doug Odum (Brittany) of Andrews and Alecia O’Donnell (Robert) of Georgetown; grandchildren, KayKay, Cooper, Brooks, Charlie, Britson and Charleston; brother, Billy Taylor of Georgetown; a very special lifelong friend, Cindy Jordan; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Betty Leland (Joe) and Francine Taylor. A Celebration of Life will be held at 11 AM Monday, March 6, 2023, at First Baptist Church of Georgetown.
