Obituary of Leonard Franklin Williams
Leonard Franklin Williams, 72, husband of Lisa Rae McCormick Williams, passed away Monday, September 5, 2022, at his home.
Born on May 8, 1950, in Georgetown, he was the son of the late Ulyssus Smith “Frank” Williams and the late Bernice Inez Player Williams. Mr. Williams retired from International Paper Company after 48 years of service. During his time at the paper mill, Mr. Williams worked as a heavy equipment operator. He enjoyed fishing, wood working, building bird houses and most of all working on the canal for the paper mill.
Survivors include his wife of Georgetown; four children, Jennifer Williams Hewitt (Joseph) of Moncks Corner, Tammy Nanette Thornal (Jamie) of Andrews, Gracie Inez Williams of Georgetown and Andrew Damien Joseph Williams of Georgetown; six grandchildren, Calah Petito (Joe) of New Jersey, Calvin Garrett Liabastre of Ridgeville, Bryant Leday (Heather) of Georgetown, Joshua Leday (Kelsey) of Georgetown, Shana Leday of Georgetown, Hunter Leday of Texas, and Michael Hewitt of Washington, D.C.; 14 great grandchildren, Brayden, Mason, Colton, Jaxon, Bentley, Braxton, Brett, Dalton, Maliegh, Serenity, Arabella, Eliza, Landon and Rylee; and two sisters, Joan Wilson of Oregon and Rhonda Connick (Jim) of Nevada.
A memorial service will be held at 2 PM Saturday, September 10, 2022, in the Pennyroyal Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the mausoleum.
