Obituary of Betty Jo Smith Johnson

Betty Jo Smith Johnson, 88, widow of Frankie Jerald Johnson, passed away Saturday, August 27, 2022, at her home. Born on February 2, 1934, in Marion, she was a daughter of the late Rhedin Smith and the late Maude Mae Richardson Smith. Mrs. Johnson had a great love for playing tennis and gardening. She was the past president of the Belle Isle Garden Club and was of the Baptist faith. Survivors include four children, Scott Johnson of WA, Cheryl Johnson of Georgetown, David Johnson of LA and Amy Johnson of Myrtle Beach; nine grandchildren, Graham Criglow of AZ, Frankie Jane Johnson of Canada, Jolie Johnson of WA, Robin Johnson of OK, Jon David Johnson (Candice) of CO, Danielle Mazzotte (BJ Bolton) of NY, and Anthony Reale, Elijah Reale and Zoee Reale all of Myrtle Beach; numerous great grandchildren; and two brothers, Richard Smith (Jean) and Donald Smith (Kathy) all of Murrells Inlet. She was preceded in death by a sister, Bobbie Smith Ricks; and a brother, Billy Smith. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
