Obituary of Anthony James "AJ" Carter
Anthony James “AJ” Carter, 28, passed away Saturday, August 13, 2022, at Tidelands Georgetown Memorial Hospital.
Born on January 5, 1994, in Georgetown, he was the son of Shelia Diane Zurcher Davis and Anthony Earl Carter. AJ was a member of Ringel Heights Baptist Church and was employed with Thompson Construction Group. He enjoyed spending time outdoors, whether it was hunting and fishing or riding his dirt bike and loved spending time with his nieces and nephews. AJ had a great love for music and enjoyed listening to Christian music and classic country.
Survivors include his mother and step father, Shelia and Paul Davis of Georgetown; father and step mother, Anthony Carter and Shannon Bellamy of Murrells Inlet; two sisters, Kristina Griffin (Travis) of Georgetown and Candice Ward of Georgetown; a step sister, Brittany Bellamy of Myrtle Beach; four nephews, Travis Griffin, Jr., Chad Griffin, Teel Ward and Maverick Ward; three nieces, Kenley Griffin, Karsyn Griffin and Keeley Ward; step niece, Alannah Bellamy; maternal grandmother, Betty Mercer of Georgetown; paternal grandparents, Shirley Carter of Georgetown; step grandparents, Mary Frances Davis and Louie Davis of Johnsonville and Charles Rodgers of Surfside Beach; two aunts, Kim Marlowe of Georgetown and Angel Sheridan (Dwayne) of Georgetown; three uncles, Joey Mills of Moncks Corner, Gene Zurcher of Georgetown and Darren Carter (Holly) of Andrews; and a special uncle, Randy Redmond of Georgetown.
He was preceded in death by maternal grandfather, Darvis Williams; paternal grandfather, Buddy Carter; and "second mom", Jackie Redmond
Funeral services will be held at 2 PM Thursday, August 18, 2022, at Ringel Heights Baptist Church with Rev. Kenny Johnson. Burial will follow in Sheridan Oaks Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Wednesday at Ringel Heights Baptist Church.
