I have many fond memories of my Uncle Warner. He taught me how to read a map as a little girl, while driving to get the tanks filled with air for a day of skin diving. One hot summer day I went to the base with him in Murray, Kentucky and everyone saluted him as we drove by. I was very impressed and realized he must be a very important guy. Once when I was only 10 or 11 I went to the base in Homestead Fl. with him and I was in charge of my baby cousin Angela while we walked through various offices. A lady asked to hold her and then we couldn’t find her for several minutes. I could sense my uncle Warner’s panic and I felt as though I had really let him down. Of course We did find the lady with Angela and Warner never expressed any anger or disappointment with me. I will miss him immensely.
