Obituary of Buddy Todd

Buddy Todd, 83, of Georgetown, beloved husband of Irene Taylor Todd, departed this life for his new life with the Lord on Saturday, March 5, 2016 at Tidelands Community Hospice House. Born on April 1, 1932, in Conway, he was a son of the late Olin E. Todd and the late Lula Jane Todd. Buddy spent his life as a dragline operator with the Wildlife Department being his most memorable time as a dragline operator and working for Mr. Bo Tyson was his latest. Buddy was well known as the Peanut Man because of the time he spent cooking and selling boiled peanuts. Buddy enjoyed collecting what most of his family considered junk but he thought of as treasures with horse trading capabilities. Buddy enjoyed tinkering with stuff and welding, at which he was very good at. A ladder was not his friend, as most of his family and friends knew, but keeping him off one was impossible. Later in life he enjoyed getting up early and helping keep the coffee made at 521 Mini Mart and eating lunch at the Ball and Que Restaurant. Survivors include his wife of 62 years; six children, Glenn Todd (Tina), Terry Todd (Sylvia), Brenda Love (John), Debi Lambert (Robby), Lisa Mincey (Steve) and Barry Todd (Lisa); 16 grandchildren, Shawn Todd (Bridgett), Ricky Todd (Jennifer), Terry Todd, Jr., Brian Todd (Katie), Toni Ward (Ryan), Dawn Austin (Roy), Crystal Thompson (Jeff), Casey Powell (Travis) R. “Griffin” Lambert, Jr., Brandon Lambert (Michelle), Trey Jordan (Rebekah), Bo Jordan (Stephanie) B.J. Jordan (Logan), Barry Todd (Kasey), Dustin Todd, Paige Todd; three step grandchildren, Chaffin Oliver, Cameron Oliver and Tiffany Mincey; 23 great grandchildren, Chase, Brantley, Sierra, Cheyanne, Kirsten, Ayden, Bryce, Swayzee, Dylan, Kristiana, Hailey, Owen, Karmyn, Walker, Addison, Jasmyn, Emma, Austin, Nathan, PJ, Claire, Shane and Layton; three step great grandchildren, Madisyn, Victoria and Delilah; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by seven brothers, Clyde, Lanneau, Lee Bryan, Clifford, Fonzie, Clyo and Edward Todd; four sisters, Flossie Pope, Fay Floyd, Dorothy May Todd and his twin sister only known as Little Sister. Graveside services will be held at 4 PM Monday, March 7, 2016 in the Sampit United Methodist Church Cemetery with Rev. Jack Todd and Kenny Johnson officiating. The family will receive friends from 3-5 Sunday at Ringel Heights Baptist Church. Memorials may be made to Tidelands Community Hospice, 2591 N.
