Obituary of Steve Coker
Steven Wendall “Steve” Coker, 58, husband of Carol Anne Rogers Coker, passed away Thursday, April 14, 2022, at Tidelands Georgetown Memorial Hospital.
Born on December 27, 1963, in Lake City, he was a son of the late Douglas Mack Arthur Coker and the late Connie Hutchinson Coker Lee. Mr. Coker was a member of Ringel Heights Baptist Church and retired from South Carolina Department of Natural Resources after working as a wildlife technician for 30 years at Tom Yawkey Wildlife Center. He had a great love for the outdoors and enjoyed fishing, hunting and running dogs. Mr. Coker also enjoyed cooking and above all else, he enjoyed spending time with his family.
Survivors include his wife of Georgetown; three children, Steven Kyle Coker (Morgan) of Lake City, Hunter Reid Coker (Samantha) of New Zion and Mikayla Deanne Adams (Ryan) of Sumter; two grandchildren, Raeliegh Coker and Colter Rooney; one brother, Rex Coker (Tamara) of Hemingway; one sister, Dawne Coker Helms (Curtis) of Sumter; mother in law, Carol Rogers of Georgetown; sister in law, Audrey Rogers Dew (Ronnie) of Georgetown; brother in law, Grant Lane (Sue) of Lake Lure, NC; six nephews, Andrew Blake, Keith Coker, George Lane, Gage Coker, Brandon Coker and Alex Coker; and four nieces, Anna Dew, Kasey Martin, Mackenzie Helms and Paris Lane.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Gary Coker.
A memorial service will be held at 6 PM Friday, April 22, 2022, at Ringel Heights Baptist Church.
The family will receive friends following the service.
