Obituary of Verna Hinson Smith

Verna Hinson Smith, 92, widow of the late Alfred Smith, passed away Friday, January 14, 2022, at Tidelands Georgetown Memorial Hospital. Born on January 7, 1930, in Loris, she was a daughter of the late Beaman Clayton Hinson and the late Chellie Wright Hinson. Ms. Smith was a member of Wayne Methodist Church. She enjoyed gardening and spending time with her family. She was known for the daylilies she planted in her yard. People from all around would come to visit her to admire them. Survivors include her son, Steve Smith (Allyson) of Georgetown; two daughters, Stephanie Barrineau (Whit) of Andrews and Sonya Groomes (Scott) of Walterboro; six grandchildren, Kyle Smith of Georgetown, Keller Smith of Georgetown, Kelcey Enicks (Will) of Colorado Springs, Dustin Barnhill (Gretchen) of Andrews, Lewis Barrineau of Andrews, and Whitney Barrineau of Andrews.
