Obituary of Maureen Delahunt
Maureen Ellen Kelly Delahunt, 86, widow of Thomas Richard Delahunt, passed away Sunday, December 26, 2021 at Grand Strand Regional Medical Center.
Born on May 8, 1935, in Cappataggle, Ireland, she was a daughter of the late Bernard Kelly and the late Sarah Brown Kelly. Mrs. Delahunt was a member of St. Mary Our Lady of Ransom Catholic Church and the Belle Isle Garden Club. Mrs. Delahunt was a talented artist that enjoyed painting oil portraits. Along with painting and gardening, Mrs. Delahunt also enjoyed being outdoors, watching birds, especially hummingbirds. She was full of life, always attending social events and living life to the fullest.
Survivors include six children, Carol Kinlock (Jerrold) of Sacramento, CA, Eileen Perrone (Steven) of Pawleys Island, Tom Delahunt of Charleston, Kathy Ryals (Allen) of Pawleys Island, Ken Delahunt of Surfside Beach and Tim Delahunt (Yinghu) of Charlotte, NC; 10 grandchildren, Ken, Kate, Sean, Kelly, Ryan, Danny, Ashley, Ashley, Tommy and Casey; eight great grandchildren, Liam, Lenny, TJ, Connor, Charlie, Olivia, Brooklyn and Maggie; two brothers, Martin Kelly (May) of Ireland and Brian Kelly of England; one sister, Nuala Greco (Carl) of Stony Point, NY; and her fur babies, Oscar and Kitty Cat "Long Tail".
She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Thomas Richard Delahunt; two brothers, Liam Kelly and Mikey Kelly; and one sister, Edie Kelly Kelleher.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 1 PM Monday, January 3, 2022 at St. Mary Our Lady of Ransom Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Pennyroyal Memorial Gardens.
