Obituary of Callie Johnson West

Callie Johnson Dorriety West, 41, passed away Friday, December 3, 2021, at Tidelands Georgetown Memorial Hospital. Born on November 13, 1980, in Myrtle Beach, she was a daughter of Myra Baker Ranta and the late William F. Johnson. Callie was a member of First Baptist Church and enjoyed reading, crafting and spending time with her family. Survivors inlcude her mother and step father, Myra and Gilbert Ranta of Pawleys Island; one son, Joseph William Edward West of Pawleys Island; a nephew she raised as her own, Dawson Johnson of Pawleys Island; maternal grandmother, Louise Baker of Georgetown; one step sister, Rebecca Ranta of Portland, OR; one aunt, Sara Patton (Tom) of Columbia; five uncles, Gene Baker (Debbie) of Georgetown, Joel Baker (Faye) of Columbia, Art Baker (Jennifer) of Pawleys Island, Chris Baker (Debbie) of Georgetown and RL Port of Pleasant Hill; and numerous cousins and other family members. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Bradley Dorriety; a sister, Heather Johnson; a brother, Parker Johnson; maternal grandfather, Carrol Baker; paternal grandparents, William Johnson and Gladiola Johnson Brandon; and an aunt, Linda Port. A memorial service will be held at 2 PM Monday, December 6, 2021, at First Baptist Church. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the church parlor.
