Obituary of Bobby Ray Thomas
Bobby Ray Thomas, 67, husband of Anne Wiggins Thomas, passed away on Thursday, January 28, 2016 at Tidelands Georgetown Memorial Hospital.
Born on October 24, 1948, in Charleston, he was a son of the late Peter Roland Thomas and the late Vernie Lambert Thomas. Mr. Thomas was a United States Marine veteran having served in the Vietnam Conflict where he received many medals to include the Purple Heart, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Combat Action Ribbon, Rifle Expert Badge and the Vietnam Cross of Gallantry with Bronze Star. Mr. Thomas was retired from the Georgetown Steel Mill and attended Saints Delight Pentecostal Holiness Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, farming, gardening, raising animals and shooting pool, but his greatest joy was spending time with his children and grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife of Georgetown; three children, Mark Thomas (Cindy) of Jamestown, Damein Thomas (Kelli) of Andrews and Kalib Thomas (Ashley) of Andrews; seven grandchildren, Josh Holseberg, Tyler Thomas, Gabriel Thomas, Logan Thomas, Kylie Thomas, Caiden Thomas and Sadie Thomas; one sister, Barbara Wilson (Stanley) of Georgetown; two brothers, Wayne Thomas (Martha) of Georgetown and Ronnie Thomas of Georgetown; and a number of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a son, Quantral Thomas; and a brother, Roland Thomas.
Funeral services will be held at 2 PM Sunday, January 31, 2016 at Saints Delight Pentecostal Holiness Church. Burial with military honors will follow in the Alford Wiggins Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Saturday, January 30, 2016 at Saints Delight Pentecostal Holiness Church.
