Obituary of Laurie York

Laurie Ann Rownd York, 68, passed away Sunday, November 28, 2021, at Tidelands Georgetown Memorial Hospital. Born on August 11, 1953, in Columbus, OH, she was the daughter of the late Thomas William Rownd and the late Betty Hair Roberson. Ms. York enjoyed baking cakes, traveling and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Survivors include three children, Bridget Thornell (Jeremy Cartwright) of Andrews, Ronald Thompson of Georgetown and Sherry Thompson of Andrews; six grandchildren, Jonathan McCracken (Miranda), Kasey McCracken (Robert), Jennifer Newton (Steven), Megan Thompson (Derrick), Alyssa Yarborough (Nick) and Emily Thompson (Austin); 16 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Brad Rownd (Donna) of FL and Tommy Rownd of MI; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and other special family members. She was preceded in death by a brother, Ralph Rownd. A memorial service will be held at 2 PM Wednesday, December 1, 2021, at The River at Warsaw Pentecostal Holiness Church.
