Obituary of Dowie Marvin "Spud" Bouchette, Jr.

Dowie Marvin “Spud” Bouchette, Jr., 67, passed away Thursday, August 26, 2021, at his home. Born on January 31, 1954, in Georgetown, he was a son of the late Dowie Marvin Bouchette, Sr. and the late Ruth Duncan Bouchette. Marvin was a member of Georgetown Pentecostal Holiness Church and former member Little People of America organization for many years. As a welder, Marvin was currently working for Envirosep and had previously worked for Pierce Machinery and Georgetown Steel. Marvin enjoyed hunting and had a great love for the GAMECOCKS, always supported any team playing against CLEMSON. Survivors include a brother Michael Steven Bouchette of Hemingway; a sister, Marcia Sports (Billy) of Nesmith; two nieces, Michelle Young (Chad) of Georgetown and Paige Hayes (Josiah) of Hemingway; and a niece and two nephews that affectionately called him “Uncle Monkey”, Hunter Young, Caroline Young and Rivers Hayes. He was preceded in death by a nephew, William Aubrey Sports, Jr.; and a niece, Eva Jane Sports. A memorial service will be held at 6 PM Thursday, September 2, 2021, at Georgetown Pentecostal Holiness Church. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
