Obituary of Chuck Frye, Jr.
William Charles “Chuck” Frye, Jr., 66, husband of Mitzi Gail Simpson Frye, passed away Tuesday, August 24, 2021, at his home.
Born on July 11, 1955, in Georgetown, SC, he was a son of late William Charles Frye, Sr., and Janice Cox Frye. Chuck was a member of Georgetown Pentecostal Holiness Church where he served as a deacon and was a member of the witnessing team. He attended Emmanuel College in Franklin Springs, GA and was also a student for several years in Discipleship and Hebrew Roots classes. Chuck was a man of God and loved studying the Bible. He was retired from Santee Cooper after 33 years of service. Chuck was a Royal Rangers Scout leader and coached Little League baseball for Georgetown County. In his earlier years, he enjoyed duck hunting, fishing, surfing, and skateboarding. In his later years, he enjoyed playing war games on the computer, but most of all Chuck loved going to the beach and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Mitzi Simpson Frye of Charleston; his mother, Janice Cox Frye of Georgetown; two children, William “Chase” C. Frye, III of Columbia and Barbara “Lauren” Frye-Dixon (Chris) of Charleston; two grandchildren, Valentina Frye and Marlee Dixon; and two sisters, Cheryl Tisdale (Tommy) and Pamela Walter (Doug).
He was preceded in death by a brother, Larry Frye.
Funeral services will be held at 2 PM Sunday, August 29, 2021, at Victory Christian Fellowship. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery, 1000 Highway 544, Conway, SC 29526.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM Saturday, August 28, 2021, at Ridgeway Funeral Home.
