Obituary of MSgt. Jessie Eugene Bryant, USAF (Ret.)

MSgt. Jessie Eugene Bryant, USAF (Ret.), 83, husband of Jessie Mae Coker Bryant, passed away Saturday, August 14, 2021, at his home. Born on May 10, 1938, in Skene, MS, he was a son of the late Jessie Cleveland Bryant and the late Ruby Walker McGrew. MSgt. Bryant was a retired United States Air Force veteran, where he served as an instructor for mechanics and was also retired from Santee Cooper. He was a member of Georgetown Church of God where he served as a former Sunday School teacher for many years. MSgt. Bryant was a man of faith that ministered to many by visiting at the hospital and telling others about his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He is survived by three children, Gregory Eugene Bryant (Della) of Georgetown, Rodney Dwayne Bryant (Beth) of Blue Ridge, GA and Jennifer Renee “Jena” Hockenberry (Ted) of Georgetown; six grandchildren, Meghan Goins (Wendell) of Anderson, Jarrod Bryant (Amanda) of Suwanee, GA, Katharine Smith (Glen) of Grayson, GA, Dalton Bryant (Katie) of Georgetown, Jessica Bryant of Grayson, GA and Brandon Hockenberry (Rachel) of Georgetown; one step grandchild, Anna Anderson of Socastee; ten great grandchildren; one brother, Travis Earl Bryant (Ann) of Cassville, MO; four half-sisters; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 1 PM Tuesday, August 17, 2021, at Georgetown Church of God. Entombment will follow in the Pennyroyal Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. The family will receive friends from 11:30 AM – 12:30 PM prior to the service at the church.
