Obituary of Billy Jordan
Billy Harrell Jordan, 82, widower of Barbara Miller Jordan, passed away Saturday, July 17, 2021, at his home.
Born on March 30, 1939, in Georgetown, he was a son of the late Andrew Watson Jordan and the late Pecola Fenters Jordan. Mr. Jordan spent most of his life on the water as a commercial fisherman and was known throughout the community as an excellent fishing net maker. Along with his love for fishing, he enjoyed listening to music and dancing. Mr. Jordan was a faithful member of United Christian Outreach and was a kind-hearted man who loved his family dearly. He will always be remembered as a wonderful father and grandfather.
Survivors include four children, Lisa Jordan Ward (Benjamin) of Georgetown, Billy "Bubby" Jordan, Jr. (Robin) of Georgetown, Wendy Jordan Redick (Wes) of Georgetown and Christie Jordan Comer (Henry) of Charleston; seven grandchildren, Benjamin Ward, Jr. (Jenny), Brad Ward, Kelsey Tucker (Michael), Corey Ward (Josie Hucks), Sydnie Jordan (Shawn Lindsey), Wesley Redick and Caroline Redick; four great-grandchildren, Olivia Redick, Baylor James Redick, Amelia Tucker and Charlotte Ward; one sister, Katherine Jordan; the mother of his children, Linda Wood of Georgetown; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by six brothers, Andrew "A.W." Jordan, Leon Jordan, Charles Jordan, Richard Jordan, Johnny Jordan and Joseph Jordan, Sr.; and one sister, Doris Prosser.
Funeral services will be held at 5 PM Wednesday, July 21, 2021, at United Christian Outreach with Pastor Timothy Crabtree officiating. Burial will follow in Pennyroyal Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Tuesday at Ridgeway Funeral Home.
