Obituary of Arthur Henry Demmerle

Arthur H. Demmerle, Pawleys Island Arthur Demmerle, 66, of Pawleys Island passed away peacefully on May 13, 2021. Mr. Demmerle (known to many as "Artie") was born in Red Bank, NJ and raised in Rumson, NJ. After graduating from Croydon Hall Academy, Art worked for National Airlines at Newark International Airport. When National and Pan American World Airways merged, he transferred to the West Coast. Having worked out of LAX in Los Angeles for several years, Arthur transferred back to the East Coast with Pan Am and was based at JFK in Queens, NY. Continuing his work in the transportation industry, Art criss-crossed the Country as an over-the-road driver until his retirement. Arthur was pre-deceased by his parents, J. Nessan & Violet Demmerle and is survived by his sisters, Jane Jasien (Michael) and Stephenie Demmerle (significant other, D.R. Hunter) both of Pawleys Island; his niece, Dr. Jessica Jasien (Warren Engledove) of League City, TX and his nephew, Michael Jasien of Denver, CO. Arthur loved nothing better than "man's best friend" at his side, the sun on his face, a swim in the ocean and enjoying nature at its best. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
