Obituary of Michael Sydney Mincey, Sr.

Michael Sydney Mincey, Sr., 71, widower of Jennifer Wrenn Mincey, passed away Tuesday, May 4, 2021 at his home. Born on April 12, 1950, Georgetown, he was a son of the late Horace B. Mincey, Sr. and the late Verla Cooper Mincey. Mr. Mincey lived life to the fullest and enjoyed spending time with his family. He was retired from Georgetown Steel Mill. Survivors include four children, Michael S. Mincey, Jr. of Georgetown, Jennifer Michelle Cherry (Joseph) of Georgetown, Jodie L. Mincey of Georgetown and Dawn Wrenn Mincey of Georgetown; seven grandchildren, Jordan Mincey, Justin Mincey, Sydnie Jordan, William Cribb, Madison Causey, Ruby Brown and Brandon Cherry; two great grandchildren, Trevor Mincey and Aubrey Mincey; two sisters, Linda Young (Joe) of Yauhannah and Ann Burris (Bill) of Troy, NC; his four legged companion, Mr. Whiskers; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Horace B. "H.B. Mincey, Jr. and James Daron Mincey; and two sisters, Brenda Bessinger and Faye Black.
