Obituary of Cheryl Matthews Roberts

Cheryl Matthews Roberts, 62, wife of Berry E. Roberts, passed away Saturday, February 6, 2021 at Tidelands Waccamaw Community Hospital surrounded by her loved ones. Born on February 14, 1958, in Norfolk, VA, she was a daughter of the late James M. “Mutt” Matthews and the late Frances Carol Ard Matthews. Mrs. Roberts was a member of Ringel Heights Baptist Church and enjoyed playing Yahtzee taking pictures and spending time with her grandchildren. Survivors include her husband of 44 years, Berry E. Roberts; two children, Michael Matthews (Rosie) and Jamie Matthews (LeeAnn); seven grandchildren, Cheyenne Matthews (Brady), Dauston Matthews, Caleb Matthews, Abby Matthews, Connor Matthews, Mikayla Matthews and Jacob Joye; one sister, Pam Hancock (Don); a special friend since childhood, Lisa Hussain; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a brother, Randall Matthews. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
