Obituary of Bruce Darrell Richardson

Bruce Darrell Richardson, 70, widower of Rachel Elaine Baylor Richardson, passed away Saturday, August 22, 2020. Born on March 17, 1950, at home in Puncheon Creek, he was the youngest son of the late Henry Malcom Richardson and the late Minnie Elizabeth Connelly Richardson. Mr. Richardson was a National Guard veteran and was retired from International Paper, where he served as the past Union President. He was a Mason and attended Trinity Pentecostal Holiness Church. Mr. Richardson had a great love for collecting guns, boating with John Shaw and was a Civil War enthusiast. He also enjoyed eating at Deborah’s Kitchen and would never pass up a piece of blueberry cake from George’s Restaurant. Survivors include three children, Brande Richardson, Terry Richardson (Jennifer) and Travis Richardson (Misty) all of Georgetown; eight grandchildren, Shelby Hanna (Brandon), Breanna Northrup, Rachel Northrup, Joshua Northrup, Justin Richardson, Brandon Richardson, Emory Richardson and Lane Richardson; one great grandchild, Gabriela Elaine Hanna; one brother, Bobby Richardson of Georgetown; one sister, Mary Rose Swails of Andrews; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one brother, Alton Terry Richardson; and one sister, Jeanette Richardson Knight. Funeral services will be held at 3 PM Wednesday, August 26, 2020 in the Pennyroyal Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. The family will receive friends 6-8 PM Tuesday at Ridgeway Funeral Home and also following the service at Mr. Richardson’s home.
