Obituary of Larry Bourne

Larry Joe Bourne, 70, husband of Carol R. Bourne, passed away Friday, May 15, 2020 at his home. Born on November 27, 1949, in Georgetown, he was a son of the late John Bell Bourne and the late Caroline Reeves Bourne. Mr. Bourne was a member of Sampit United Methodist Church and Spring Gulley Baptist Church. He was a founding member of the Swamp Fox Fellowship Riders and enjoyed fishing, building, working on projects and most of all, spending time with his grandchildren. Survivors include his wife of Andrews; three children, Tracey Bourne of Andrews, Joey Bourne (Elizabeth) of Andrews and Michelle Bowers of Georgetown; three step children, Ruby Lynn Mathers (Daniel) of Roseburg, OR, Eric Hope of Tallahassee, FL and Ivan Hope (Amy) of Tallahassee, FL; six grandchildren, Jessica Wilson (Will) of Andrews, Autumn Lambert (Devin) of Georgetown, Noel Lambert (Dean) of Georgetown, Julia Marshall (Chase) of Andrews, Dawson Bourne of Andrews and Caroline Bourne of Andrews; eight step grandchildren; three great grandchildren, Trace Lambert, Ellington Lambert and Memphis Lambert; one sister, Ernestine Gibson of Andrews; one brother, Harris Bourne (Donna) of Palm Bay, FL; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Sharon Bourne; two grandchildren, Jonathan Mixon and Heaven LeeAnne Bowers; one sister, Sharon McClanahan; and two brothers, John “JW” Bourne and Frank Bourne. A memorial service will be held at 3PM Sunday, May 24, 2020 at Sampit United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the church fellowship hall.
