Obituary of Mary Lou Howell Strickland

Mary Lou Howell Strickland, 83, widow of Hubert Lee Strickland, passed away on Sunday, April 12, 2015 at The Medical University of South Carolina. Born on October 19, 1931, in Horry County, she was a daughter of the late George C. Howell, Sr. and the late Anna Hearl Howell. Mrs. Strickland was a member of First Assembly of God. Survivors include three sons, Levon Strickland (Sheila) of Georgetown, Genair Strickland (Shirley) of Georgetown and Roger Strickland of Hemingway; four grandchildren, Kevin Strickland (Tiffanie) of Wilmington, NC, Kyle Strickland (Nicole) of Hemingway, Jessica Strickland of Georgetown and Denise Newton (JW) of Georgetown; four great grandchildren, Kelsie Strickland, Branton Ciuffetelli, Jackson Newton and Brice Strickland; one brother, George C. Howell, Jr. of Central Square, NY; one sister, Leona Tindall (John) of Leesville, SC; and a number of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a son, Terry Wayne Strickland; and four brothers, Freeman Howell, Malcom Howell, Arthur Neil Howell and Lee Howell. Funeral Services will be held at 1 PM Wednesday, April 15, 2015 at First Assembly of God. Burial will follow in Pennyroyal Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Tuesday at First Assembly of God.
