Obituary of Jonathan Michael Mayzak
Jonathan Michael Mayzak, 20, passed away Sunday, August 11, 2019, in Utica, NY surrounded by his family, friends and fellow racers.
Born on April 24, 1999, in Atlanta, GA, he was a son of Keri Mayzak Leachman and Brian Leachman. Jonathan began riding a dirt bike at the age of 4 and competed in his first championship a year later, and so began his love for Motocross. Motocross became all-consuming for Jonathan and his family, spending time every weekend and most weekdays training. Jonathan obtained a Professional License at the age of 16. His true passion, even more than racing, was training the future generation of Motocross racers. Everyone that met Jonathan was instantly drawn to him. His infectious smile, his laugh and his sense of humor and love for this sport were what made him so very special. Some say, that the brightest lights burn out the fastest. Jonathan was truly our light, our heart, and our world.
