Obituary of Joseph Russell Melton

Joseph Russell Melton, 79, widower of Helen Skipper Melton, passed away on Monday, September 14, 2015 at his home. Born on July 30, 1936, in Indianapolis, IN, he was a son of the late William M. Melton and the late Elizabeth Guy Melton. Mr. Melton was retired from the Santee Cooper Winyah Steam Generation Plant. Survivors include four daughters, Inita McNeely (John), Rhonda Matherne (Scott) and Renee Barron (Michael) all of Louisiana and Jodi Turner (James) of Andrews; eight grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Ronda King of Conway; a brother-in-law, Carlton Sidell of Hemingway; and a number of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a son, Joseph Russell Melton, Jr. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
