Obituary of Dorothy Marsh Long

Dorothy Marsh Long, 88, widow of Harold Lewis Long, Sr., passed away Friday, December 28, 2018 at Prince George Healthcare Center.

Born on July 24, 1930, in Georgetown, she was a daughter of the late John Thomas Marsh and the late Eunice Rowe Marsh. She loved her Lord Jesus Christ and was a member of First Baptist Church and the Ruth Sunday School Class, and was also a member of Powder Mill Baptist Church in Plum Tree, NC. She was a member of the United Daughters of the Confederacy and the Georgetown Garden Club. Mrs. Long enjoyed sewing, traveling, gardening, camping and taking care of her family.

Survivors include three children, Harold Lewis Long, Jr. (Sharon) of Burkesville, TX, Rhonda Jones (Tom) of Teague, TX and Galynn Adams (Bob) of Goose Creek; six grandchildren, Shane Port of Cypress, TX, Tres Long of Georgetown, Ryan Long of Georgetown, Logan Long of Houston, TX, Sorell Williamson of Austin, TX and Nathan Jones of Teague, TX; 12 great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; a brother, Tommy Marsh (Margaritte) of Saluda; and a number of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Joyce Harrelson.

Funeral services will be held at 11AM Saturday, January 5, 2019 at First Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the church parlor.
