Jody Leon Franklin Owens, you will forever be my one and only love. You took my breath away in 1989 when you walked into Grandma Margie's and flashed that beautiful smile at me and the pain from losing you takes my breath away today. It amazes me that the same phrase can have two totally different meanings.
I have decided not to sell our Commercial Fishing Vessel. You worked so hard on getting her ready for the season. The Lady Karen will remain working in your Memory to always cherish and honor what you started. I will continue to work towards the goal you set for us and make sure your Legacy stands strong.
I am able to do all of this because I know one day I will join you for Eternity in Heaven. When I get there I want you to be so proud of what I have achieved. This isn't how we planned to do it but it is how God planned it. His plans are much bigger than I can ever imagine.
When I told the girls you passed away I told them that All of Jesus' disciples were Fisherman. And He loves fisherman. "You know how Daddy is the best shrimper in the whole wide world? Jesus needed his help in Heaven on the His shrimp boat. " Emma said, "I bet in Heaven the water is made of Gold." Cameron said, "That's right. Daddy is on a big shrimp boat on a Golden Ocean with Jesus in Heaven!"! That is exactly how I love to picture it. That thought makes me smile.
I love and miss you Daddy. See you in a minute!
