Obituary of Lloyd Carey Mercer

Lloyd Carey Mercer, 81, husband of Kathy Elaine Cribb Mercer, passed away Friday, August 24, 2018 at Tidelands Georgetown Memorial Hospital.

Born on September 18, 1936, in Georgetown, he was a son of the late John Clarence Mercer, Sr. and the late Dorothy Harrell Mercer.  Mr. Mercer enjoyed spending time in his shop working with wood and was a member of First Baptist Church.

Survivors include four children, Karen Richardson (Edward) of Pawleys Island, Donald Mercer (Donna) of Lugoff, Melissa Bone (Dwane) of Georgetown and Denise Driggers (Chris) of Georgetown; eight grandchildren, Nicole Burbage (Jim) of Georgetown, Tiffany Britt (Justin) of Mobile, AL, Brandon Lynn of Georgetown, Whitney Bone of Georgetown, Donald Mercer, Jr. (Brenda) of Lexington, Chris Mercer (Brittany) of Georgetown, Kierston Goins of Georgetown and Stephen Driggers of Georgetown; numerous great grandchildren; one sister, Gail Wilson of Levittown, PA; numerous nieces and nephews; and his beloved chihuahua, Missy.

He was preceded in death by four brothers, Walter H. Mercer, Guy M. Mercer, Linden Mercer and J. C. "Bobo" Mercer, Jr.; and three sisters, Jenny M. Infinger, Gladys M. Carter, Dollie M. Allison

Funeral Services will be held at 3 PM Tuesday, August 28, 2018 at First Baptist Church with Dr. Ted Sherrill officiating. Burial will follow in Pennyroyal Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Monday at First Baptist Church.
