Obituary of Donald Ray Poston

Donald Ray “Donnie” Poston, Sr., 70, beloved husband of Patricia A. Poston, passed away Saturday, August 11, 2018 at his daughter’s home.

Born on April 17, 1948, in Georgetown, he was a son of the late James Harvey Poston and the late Semeria Hardin Poston. Mr. Poston attended Georgetown Church of God and was a US Army veteran. He enjoyed spending time outdoors, hunting and fishing and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Patsy Poston of Georgetown; three children, Donald Ray Poston, Jr., Tammy Poston (Barry Dean) and Lorra Hammond (Bobby) all of Georgetown; three grandchildren, Jessica Poston (Bryan), Cody Hammond and Colten Hammond all of Georgetown; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Mickey Poston.

Funeral services will be held at 4 PM Tuesday, August 14, 2018 at Georgetown Church of God with Rev. Terry Wilkerson officiating. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the church sanctuary.
