Obituary of William Leroy "Willie" Moore

William Leroy “Willie” Moore, Jr., 78, husband of Marie Owens Moore, passed away Wednesday, July 4, 2018 at Tidelands Georgetown Memorial Hospital.

Born on April 22, 1940, in Jacksonville, FL, he was a son of the late William Leroy Moore, Sr. and the late Helen Edwards Moore. Mr. Moore was a member of First Baptist Church where he served on several committees, worked in the kitchen and was as a former deacon. He was also a member of the Samaritans Sunday school class. Mr. Moore was retired from GTE with more than 30 years of service and was a vital part of the Ridgeway Funeral Home staff. He was a Mason and was member of the Winyah Masonic Lodge #40 and enjoyed working in his yard and spending time with his family. He will be remembered for having a gentle soul, a great sense of humor and a loving spirit.

Survivors include his wife of Georgetown; one daughter, Cheryl Moore Stone (Danny) of Georgetown; two granddaughters, Hillary Stone Wyatt (Tyler) of Florence and Danielle Stone Moore (Roger) of Roebuck; one great granddaughter, Aubrey Tyler Wyatt of Florence; one sister, Martha M. Burkehart (Byron) of High Point, NC; two brothers, Ron P. Moore (Linda) of St. Augustine, FL and Steve E. Moore (Sheila) of Johns Island; one uncle, Carl Edwards, Jr. of KY; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held at 2 PM Saturday, July 7, 2018 at First Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Pennyroyal Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
