Obituary of Faye Elliott Barrineau

Marion Faye Elliott Barrineau, 70, passed away Tuesday, December 19, 2017 at The Medical University of South Carolina.

Born on September 30, 1947, in Horry County, she was the daughter of the late Francis Marion Elliott and the late Ivey Shelley Elliott. Ms. Barrineau grew up in Georgetown and attended Winyah High School. She was a member of Georgetown First Assembly of God and worked as a volunteer in the Food Pantry. She graduated from Joy Land Beauty School and was a beautician for many years.

In May 1992, Ms. Barrineau joined the Georgetown County Sheriffs Department as a Corrections Officer. Before she retired in December 2007, she had made the rank of Lieutenant. In 1992, she received her GED with highest honors and was given a scholarship to Horry Georgetown Technical College. She enjoyed playing cards, especially Canasta and loved animals.

Survivors include her daughter, Melissa Butler of Georgetown; granddaughter, Lorin Hayes of Washington, DC; and a special companion, Lucky.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and several special aunts and cousins.

Funeral services will be held at 6 PM Thursday, December 21, 2017 at Georgetown First Assembly of God with Rev. Dave Hoskins officiating.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
