Obituary of Eva Norton Ward

Eva Pearl Norton Ward, 83, widow of Robert James Ward, Sr., passed away Sunday, October 29, 2017 at her home.

Born on January 18, 1934, in Andrews, she was a daughter of the late Chandler Norton and the late Harriett Stalvey Norton. Mrs. Ward was a member of Screven Baptist Church and the Deborah Sunday School Class. She retired from Wachovia Bank after more than 30 years of service. Mrs. Ward enjoyed camping, sewing, cooking reading and spending time with the ladies of her Sunday school class.

Survivors include two sons, Bobby Ward (Jamie) of Georgetown and Timmy Ward (Ruthie) of Georgetown; three grandchildren, Shannon Ward of Jonesborough, TN, Susan Ward Harrelson (Derik) of Georgetown and Timothy Ward, II of Georgetown; one step grandson, Wayne Estes (Rebecca) of Fairbanks, AK; six great grandchildren; 4 step great grandchildren; and one brother, JB Norton (Elaine) of Myrtle Beach.

She was preceded in death by a grandson, Robert James “RJ” Ward, III; and two sisters, Millie Keeler and Bessie Olinger.

Funeral services will be held at 12 Noon Tuesday October 31, 2017 at Screven Baptist Church with Rev. Kenny Johnson and Rev. Daryl Tanner officiating. Burial will follow in Pennyroyal Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
