Obituary of Randall Thurman Jones

Randall Thurman Jones, 82, husband of Barbara Ann McGlothlin Jones, passed away Monday, April 3, 2017 at his home. Born on February 10, 1935, in Bristol, VA, he was a son of the late Herbert Jones and the late Hetta Hill Jones. Mr. Jones was a member of Carvosso United Methodist Church in Abingdon, VA. He was a sports enthusiast and especially enjoyed playing golf. Survivors include his wife of Pawleys Island; two children, Becky Littleton of Bristol, VA and Don “Randy” Jones of Birmingham, AL; one step daughter, Leah Gregory (Jeff) of Georgetown; five grandchildren, Josh Littleton of Bristol, VA, Alex Littleton (Tim Mannix) of Bristol, VA, Nick Jones of Palm Harbor, FL, Cooper Gregory of Georgetown and Jessica Gregory of Georgetown; three great grandchildren; one sister, Greta Phillips of Kingsport, TN; two brothers, Robert Jones (Betty) of Bristol, VA and Gary Jones of Maryville, TN; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a step son, Jeff Godsey. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Friday, April 14, 2017 at the Forest Hills Chapel of Farris Funeral Service in Abingdon, VA.
